Tamron AF 75-300mm f/4.0-5.6 LD for Canon Digital SLR Cameras

I’m an amateur photographer, when i first got the lens i was very happy with it, i mean it was great, long distance, minimal chromatic abberation, but then a month after purchase, it was in my backpack, i asked my friend to pass the bag to me, and it dropped about half a foot, and now the zooming bearing no longer works
I mean don’t get me wrong it’s very good, if you beleive that you can take good care of it i would greatly suggest it as an entry level telephoto for the amateur photographer to experiment with.
I’m sure there are better Lenses, but if you’re going to pay much more money.
Pros: Cheap, Effective, Very good outdoors, Very Sharp at f/8.0, can’t be beat for the price
Cons: Bad indoors, no Image Stabilization so it’s not very stable under a shutter speed of 1/30, not very good shock resistant
Ultimately i would suggest this lens. Get it, it’s cheap, if you want to spend 500 dollars though, get the 70-300mm Canon IS USM lens, it’s better, but 5 times the price.

Its a real nice lens for the price you pay, dont forget no macro available for this lens. Tamron is better than Canon for 75-300 deal I bought Canon 70-300 without IS, every photo I ve taken was blurred, I thought all that kind of cheap lenses give the same result, I returned it and got this one, this one is a lot nicer than canon, but nothing can beat Canon 70-200 L Series save some money and buy it, that kind of cheap lenses sooner or later goes to trash or garage sale.

The Tamron AF 75-300 lens was priced well below what I could purchase the same lens from a local camera store. I received the lens in 3 business days the way it was promised. I am a serious amateur photographer and I use the lens with my Canon Rebel XT to shoot landscapes, lighthouses, seashores, sailboats and old barns. I am totally satisfied with the lens

This lens serves a no nonsense zoom lens for a novice photographer. Although the focusing is slow it takes great outdoor pictures. My purpose is mainly outdoor photography for which this lens is great. The macro mode takes a while getting used to but I’d rather use this as a zoom lens only.
Overall great value and a super buy for a novice photographer on a budget.
